Marshall Tournament Information

Friday, January 30th and Saturday, January 31st

Dear Speech Parent and Competitor,

This year our first tournament will be the Marshall overnight. There are two aspects to this tournament that are not typical: 1) a two day tournament 2) students need to pay their own expenses. This tournament takes place on Friday and Saturday and provides five rounds of preliminary competition and then quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals. It is an excellent first tournament as students have several rounds over two days.

We will be taking a coach bus with comfortable seats and VCR for the long drive to Marshall. The students will also be spending the night in a hotel. For this tournament (and this tournament only) the kids will need to pay $125.00 plus eating expenses. This amount will cover: transportation, hotel, registration fees, one meal and judging fees. Marshall High School is sponsoring a dinner at the tournament site Friday night, which part of the $125.00 and our hotel serves free breakfast so the kids will need money for snacks on Friday and Saturday and for dinner on the way home. Team members should bring a lunch with them on the bus, as we will not be stopping on the way to Marshall.

Please spend time looking over the traveling rules and submit the forms online.
